I’ve finally turned in my next book. Most likely, it’s not one that anyone expected, but it’s one that I’ve wanted to write for a long time. The title is Not Even a Ghost, and it’s the prequel to the three “Ghost” books. It tells the story of how Johan Eschbach, as a former intercepter pilot, sometime Spazi (intelligence) operative, and doctor of enviromental science working in government in the Federal District of the United States of Columbia, ended up “exiled” to the “wilds of New Bruges.” At present, I don’t have a publication date, but it won’t be before sometime in 2027.

And yes, I am working, if slowly, on another novel.

Awesome! Gonna need to go reread. I’ve been thinking about those books — so this is a good excuse.

    Excellent! Awesome! Fantastic! Excited!

I guess the publisher changed their mind after reading the manuscript?

I remember you mentioning you had suggested a a new Ghost book (in a Q&A post back in November 2023–I had to look it up to make sure my memory was correct) and they turned down the idea. I’m excited to read about a younger Johan Eschbach.

    Thank you.

Wonderful! I’d had a secret (and selfish) fear that you’d stopped.
