A wonderful story and one I am glad to see added to the Recluse Saga. It fills a nice part of the time line in and provides a view you wouldn’t think of for events later.

I’m an avid reader of your Recluse Series books. Just finish “Mage-Fire War”. I have seen the word Quint, in a lot of the books. This is in regards to time. What is the element of time, it refer to? I have research the word and can’t find it any place. Thanks for your in-depth coverage of the Recluse Series. Looking forward to the next book.

    1. Quint comes from the Latin word quintus, which means “fifth.” In Recluce, it refers to a fifth of a glass. It’s sometimes used in English as a prefix, as in quintet, which is an ensemble of five musical performers, or quintuplets.

Just finishing Fairhaven Rising – already can’t wait for the next one!! You are one of my favourite authors since discovering your work back in the late 90s. I feel like you have achieved with Recluce what Tolkien started to do with the Silmarillion. Love your work. Thanks!
