Modesitt, Jr. http://www.lemodesittjr.com/?p=15326 Next week, officially on February 7th, Simon & Schuster will be releasing Under the Moons of Mars, an anthology of stories based on the “Barsoom” stories of Edgar Rice Burroughs and edited by John Joseph Adams.  Like many fantasy and science fiction writers, I read the John Carter of Mars stories as a boy, and when John asked if I’d like to write a story for the anthology I jumped at the chance.  That resulted in “The Bronze Man of Mars,” a story which one reviewer has already noted, for better or worse, is one of the stories most evocative of the moods created by Burroughs.
