November Question

Now that Scholar will be released in the next week, can you tell us when the  next Imager Portfolio book will be available?

Princeps is currently scheduled for a May 2012 release date, but I don’t know yet whether that will be early or late in the month.

  1. Why isn’t Scholar about Rhenn?

    1. Because it takes places hundreds of years before Rhenn was born. As for why I wrote a prequel, rather than continuing to write about Rhenn… anything more I wrote about Rhenn would be an anticlimax.

Loved the Scholar Imager. Wonderful detail and description of the “world.” I especially enjoyed the “complaints” and concerns with written histories. I am a medieval scholar myself, and work on a certain group of manuscripts and early print versions of the Carthusian order and Brothers of the Common Life circa 1472-1500, working in the Lower Rhine (Cologne through the Low Countries) (Latin and Middle Dutch mss and printed books).
SO, I was impressed with the main character’s discussions of really figuring out what had happened. Keep up the excellent writing. You give this reader great pleasure with all your books. Laviece

while i havent read the scholor,i feel that if the imager trilogy was to go forward with renn a little more trained in his role now that i feel this character could be better than dorrin in recluce saga.the imager is probably the best i have ever read and thank you for the books

  3. Teresa Ferris says:

In Rhenn’s story, he needs to sleep in a protected room so his dreams don’t image anything dangerous. The Scholar doesn’t have this limitation and yet he seems to be nearly as gifted / powerful as Rhenn. Why is that?

  4. Quaeryt hasn’t yet figured out what’s about to happen. Remember, Rhenn has the benefit of centuries of imagers’ experience. Quaeryt doesn’t.

  5. John Beattie says:

I have read most of your books, including all of the recluce, spellsong, corean, and imager series. Until recently the natural ordermage pair has been my favorite. Now, having read all the imager series, I’m blown away by it. I too was a bit disappointed that you didn’t lengthen the first three imager books, but this is just as good and I can’t wait to see how you work in some more history from those. Anyway, I love your books, keep them coming.

Oh, and it’d help if the security capture words weren’t white on a white background

Just wanted to say that I loved Scholar. Wrote a review of it today on my blog, and also dropped it on Amazon.com.
